Volvo Penta's Distributor Cap protects the distributor and rotor in spark ignition systems. It is a rotating switch that is enclosed and used in spark-ignition internal combustion engines. The voltage from the ignition coils is transferred to the engine's cylinders via this distributor cap. They and the rotor are required to ignite the fuel-air mixture inside the engines and power them. It also aids in the distribution of electrical current from an ignition coil to a pair of spark plugs. A faulty distributor causes the engine to stall, difficulty starting, shaking, and squealing noises.
